Chinook Salmon
(kings)
Best
months: July, August, October and November.
There are two runs of Chinook in
the Fraser Valley, summer and fall run. The summer
run starts at the end of July and goes through to
the end of August. The fall run starts in late
September to end of October. Chinook salmon, also
known as King, Tyee and Spring, are the largest of
the salmon family. They average 15-25 lbs, but its
not uncommon to see 40 to 50 pounders. There are
two rivers we take out clients to on this
adventure, the Chilliwack river, for summer and
fall runs, walk and wade. We also fish the
Harrison river in the Fall and Harrison river is
not a walk and wade.
